The following is a space where the ACT communications office from time to time shares information, documents, and resources for use by ACT member staff. The Steering Committee for Humanitarian Response (SCHR) is a small platform of major humanitarian non-governmental agencies to share insights and knowledge on humanitarian issues. ACT International represents the World Council of Churches at the principals and policy working group levels.

This November update includes information on cash grant programs and disaster preparedness as well as feature on the ACT Capacity Development Initiative (CDI).

Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance (EAA)
EAA calls for nominations for the Ecumenical Media Team which will cover the 2008 International AIDS Conference. EAA is again seeking to put together a strong team of journalists, photographers, video graphers and more to provide coverage of faith-based activities and issues at the Conference for use by secular and religious media and in interpretation efforts by participants.

The team helps to raise the visibility of faith-based participation at the conference, as well as faith-based responses to HIV and AIDS in general. This year, EAA is also offering the opportunity for a more structured “training” programme for a few new communicators whose organizations think they would benefit from strengthening their skills in covering news and events alongside experienced international journalists.
