Sierra Leone: Hope against all odds


Sierra Leonian refugee driven  out from Guinea. The mother is waiting at the Sierra Leonian embassy in Conakry for the next ferry to FreetownSierra Leone is caught in a circle of violence. A nine year civil war devastated the country. People have experienced killing, mutilation and rape - 150,000 have been killed and 20,000 abducted by the rebels. Now people gather fresh hope after the government and the rebels have agreed to a ceasefire recently. All what the people want is peace.

Rainer Lang from the ACT Coordinating Office in Geneva has visited the country to see the impact of the work of the ACT members and the needs of the people:
